This week AYATS has delivered the second refurbished train of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), composed of four carriages, within the ambitious comprehensive transformation project of line 112, known as the Vallès metro.
This milestone is part of a much broader programme: AYATS will carry out the refurbishment of 16 FGC trains, which amount to a total of 60 carriages, over a period of 2.5 years. The project will make it possible to generate more than 30 direct jobs and up to 50 including direct and indirect positions, reinforcing the company’s industrial impact in the territory.
What does the comprehensive refurbishment of a train consist of?
- At AYATS we carry out a complete process that includes:
- Total disassembly of each train and restoration of all mechanical, structural and safety systems.
- Carrying out the comprehensive refurbishment and the full coordination of the project.
- Reviewing and improving critical systems to increase reliability.
- Application of a high-performance anti-graffiti coating, which increases durability and reduces maintenance costs.
